An infinity of universes ago, the Shrimps in one universe (we will call it Universe A) discovered a way to cross to other universes (Universe B). They found out that there are connections to each universe and that all you had to do to get across them was find one and link them up. for the Shrimp, it was the organic wormhole teleportation built into MÜMÜ necks. Problem was any time they went through, they killed the MÜMÜ they blasted through. That is why Oz was the key. because he is part werewolf, he regenerates, which meant the Shrimps could travel across the Universe' indefinately without destroying teh wormhole. Perhaps this meant they could come back and tell the story of the other Universe.
Little did they know that the rules of each Universe is different, and once they crossed they gate to ours, their immense brainpower no longer functioned properly and they become really fuckin' stupid.
It's Science.

This render was made based off of an image by ^delya, which you can see HERE!. Naturally it had to be a render. Not a wallpaper this time. Maybe in the future but not now. This is ART.
Technical Details
Made in Maya 8 (x64), rendered in Mental Ray. Lit entirely with final gathering except for one light, which only emitted specular for the hair sheen. Fast Mental Ray subsurface scattering shader used on the face, with it ticked to include the final gathering in the lightmap calculation. Maya 'hair tube' shader used for the hair. Maya ramp shaders used on the rocket, clothes, shrimp, eyes, and the brown hair, including the sideburns. Mental Ray dielectric shader used for the blood. The background is a simple imageplane with a maya gradient on it. The environment itself is white, to give a little more ambience to the overall lighting. The main lighting came from two brighter than white planes on either side of the scene. You can see shots at the bottom, DOWN THERE LOOK.
I ran into a lot of glitches in this render. Apparently Mental Ray doesn't like it when you use a whole crapload of final gather rays on the subsurface shaders. I kept getting like, negative infinity values or soemthing. Check below for a shot of the glitch.
I went through about 20 or 30 different smoke trail tests. I learned a LOT in the process of making this image about Maya's FluidFX. Very powerful system, I like it a lot. Check the pictures to see some of the tests.
And that about wraps this one up. Hope you enjoyed it, this was the first image created on my new computer system.
I would highly recommend that if you are in the market for a new computer, go to FlickerDown.com and talk to Dave Graham. He's an awesome guy and he can put you together a really damn nice machine, custom order anything you want on it, and make sure you're getting something reliable. Without this guy, I wouldn't have been able to even MAKE this image.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
