Not much details need to be explained, as it is bassically the same scene as the original. If you are curious about technical aspects or how it was made, check the original. The fuz on the hat was done with Maya Fur, and the candy canes used a ramp shader which was curled by the poly extrusions twist options. The fade effect was done by duplicating the canes geometry and expanding it, then applying a fading texture to it. Here is some in progress layered shots: [link] [link] [link]
