Made this for
 as she requested a glass butterfly on a black background, I hope she likes it! It came out a bit better than I thought it would, so I decided to post as a deviation instead of keeping it hidden. Check other color variations [link] [link] . Personally, I like the first link, even though the reflection doesn't make sense.Technical Details I don't normally do this kind of image, so I decided to kick it up a notch (BAM!) and use some subtle techniques to make it look a tad better. The ground plane uses an anisotropic blurred reflection (blurs more in one direction than another, sort of like brushed metal), and was rendered using floating point (HDRI) accuracy to keep the reflection from clipping what it reflected to white. It's hard to explain the difference between the look of floating point versus non floating point unless I had a side by side comparison of them... OH WAIT I DO HARHAR [link] [link] Enjoy. |
